The Girls Team Fit Club : Week One Summary
AOP is a group with a common purpose. We support each other and want to see every one of us succeed. Everyone. However, I’m going to take this moment to talk specifically about The Girls Team.
Hey! New Year!! I double-dog dare you!!!!
I screwed around on my diet and exercise regime pretty badly throughout December. And most of November too, if I'm totally honest. I don’t have a “good” reason for it. Most everyone’s been sick. Really really sick. The kind of thing that makes best friends turn to each other and go, “Ew. You’re gross. Go away.” I’ve been sick on and off but nothing that should have thrown me from my game this badly.
Trick or Fleet Feet!!!
For Halloween yesterday I treated myself to a trip to Fleet Feet in Syracuse. It came highly recommended by a lot of people as THE place to go to get sneakers.
May the Force Be With You
I've decided to blog this week about a concept that's been running thru my head for some time. I'm hoping putting it out here will help cement it in my mind for the next time I decide to derail my personal "Healthy Lifestyle Express" into a bacon processing plant. Maybe I'll be reminded of this blog and stop while there's still time.

There are two powerful forces at battle when embarking on any healthy lifestyle program - External Forces and Internal Forces.
Ithaca 5K Race/Funwalk
This past Saturday AOP Members Jason, Drew and myself attended the Cancer Resource Centers' Strength in Numbers Walkathon & 5K Run. Super-supportive FOAP (Friend of At Our Pace) Mike B was also in attendance. He ran in the 5K Race (approximately 3 miles). Mike's girlfriend Heather didn't race as she's getting over being sick but she came along to cheer him on.
The Joy of Lists...
I am a list fanatic. Jason picks on me for this, but it's born into my very genetic code. My father was a List Man. He had lists for everything. “20 Things To Do This Year” “10 Things To Do In London” “Top 15 Stupidest People This Year” Stuff like that.
Celebrate Every Little Thing
It’s been an eventful week. I stuck to my sensible eating plan. I increased my exercise. I’ve drunk enough water to rehydrate the Sahara. And I’ve been fairly happy and upbeat while doing it all.
Welcome September!
In my last blog I mentioned Step 1 was Just Try. I'm currently at Step 0.5 because I'm not trying hard enough. Somedays not even trying at all. We all know this isn't easy, but at times it's like I'm going out of my way to make it even more difficult for myself.
My Journey - Step 1: Just Trying
My dream - like that of just about everyone on planet Earth - is to lose weight, become fit and win the lottery. After 40 years, I’ve decided that winning the lottery might be the easiest of the three. Despite that, I’ve decided to stop putzing about and work on things I should be able to control --- diet and exercise.
I WANNA DO IT TOO!!!
When I heard of Jason’s Unique Weight Management Opportunity I pretty much forced myself upon him. “I WANNA DO IT TOO!!! PLEASE LET ME PLAY WITH YOU!!! PLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEASE!!!!!!”
Here’s why…
